FOREST BATHING
"If you go off into a forest and get very quiet, you'll come to understand you're connected with everything"- Alan Watts
What is Forest Bathing?
Shinrin Yoku is the Japanese term for forest bathing. A 'forest bath' is the simple yet deeply healing practice of immersing oneself in nature. It is a mindful activity; using the senses to connect fully to the natural environment.
A Forest Bathing session is a gentle guided nature connection walk where you will be offered a series of ‘invitations’; mindful activities designed to help you slow down, notice and connect to your environment. Sessions end with a tea ceremony - a seasonal herbal tea and poem.
I am a trained Shinrin Yoku practitioner and Forest Therapy Guide, I hold an International Forest Therapy Guide Diploma from Nature & Therapy UK.
Biophilia
Biophilia is human's innate tendency to seek connections with the rest of nature.
We are drawn to it when we need nourishing, restoring, healing. Time in nature fills us with calm, wonder and a sense of connection. In the midst of stressful modern life we need it more than ever, which is why I offer nature connection in my work.
Human health and the health of the planet are intrinsically linked; when we practice Forest Bathing our own health gets a boost and we are inspired to make eco conscious choices.
WE ARE NATURE.
“May your time in nature lead you to yourself”
